FITTING INSTRUCTION

WARNING
  • Accessories which are not properly fitted can be dangerous. Read the instructions carefully prior to fitting. Whilst fitting, comply with instructions at all times. If in doubt, contact your nearest approved retailer.
Fitting Instruction
1

Remove the load space floor panel.

Remove the load space trims.

Remove the loadspace trim panels.For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Loadspace Trim Panel LH (501-05)

Disconnect the vehicle startup battery. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Specifications (414-00)

Locate the Deployable Side Step Control Module (DSCM) power plug on the rear end body wiring harness. Using a suitable tool release the anti backout block.

Swap pin 3 and 4.

Install the DSCM.

  • Torque: 5 Nm.
  • Connect the electrical body harness.

Plug in the DSCM harness to the module.

Secure the wiring harness car rearward.

Remove the 'C' Pillar lower and upper trim panels.For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. C-Pillar Lower Trim Panel (501-05)

Install the wiring harness as illustrated.

NOTE
  • Left side shown. Right side similar.
  • Locate the wiring harness body grommet holes. Discard the grommet plugs.

If applicable clip the wiring harness to the third row seat bracket.

NOTE
  • For 5 seat variants securely tape the wiring harness to the body in the position shown.

Clip the wiring harness as illustrated.

CAUTION
  • Make sure there is clearance between harness 'A' and the busbar clip as illustrated.
NOTE
  • Right side shown.
  • Secure and tape the harness as shown.
  • For 5 seat variants securely tape the wiring harness to the body in the position shown in the previous step.

Use fixing location points as arrowed in illustration.

Release the front of the rear wheel arch liner for access. For more information refer to Deployable side steps fitting instructions.

NOTE
  • Right side shown. Left side similar.
  • Secure the grommets.
  • Plug the wiring harness into the rear side step brackets.

Feed the wiring harness through the rear wheel arch area and secure as illustrated.

Replace fuse in location 39 in the rear fuse box with fuse 'D' supplied.

Install the 'C' Pillar lower and upper trim panels.For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. C-Pillar Lower Trim Panel (501-05)

Install the left loadspace trim panel.For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Loadspace Trim Panel LH (501-05)

Install the loadspace floor trim.

Connect the vehicle startup battery. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Specifications (414-00)

Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, configure the deployable side step electrics.
