FITTING INSTRUCTION

WARNING

Accessories which are not properly fitted can be dangerous. Read the instructions carefully prior to fitting. Comply with instructions at all times. If in doubt, contact your nearest approved retailer.

Fixed Side Steps - (Bill of Materials)

NOTE

VPLRP0269 is superseded by VPLRP0347 which is superseded by VPLRP0530. VPLRP0530 is recommended, but any of the older numbers will still fit.
This procedure requires additional part number VPLGP0338 - Foam Pad.

Remove the component.

Remove the lower fixings of the Rear Rocker Panel Moulding.

CAUTION

Take care accessing the outer fixing under the Rear Rocker Panel Moulding.

NOTE

Repeat this step for the other side.

Remove the trim.

NOTE

Observe the cut marks on the trim panel.
Repeat this step for the other side.

Using a suitable tool, cut the trims as illustrated.

NOTE

Hand tight only at this stage.

Install both front Side Step mounting brackets.

CAUTION

Part number VPLGP0338 required as specified above.

Remove and discard the highlighted section as illustrated.

Remove and discard the adhesive backing from the foam pad.

CAUTION

Make sure that the foam pad is correctly positioned on to the rear right mounting bracket.

NOTE

This step applies to the rear right side mounting bracket only.

Install the foam pad to the rear right mounting bracket 'D' as illustrated.

NOTE

Hand tight only at this stage.

Install both rear Side Step mounting brackets.

NOTE

Hand tight only at this stage.

With the aid of another person, install the Side Steps.

Tighten both the rear Side Step mounting bracket bolts.

Torque: 48 Nm.

Tighten both the front Side Step mounting bracket bolts.

Torque: 48 Nm.

Remove the side steps.

NOTE

Repeat this step for the other side.

Install the trim.

Torque: 8 Nm.

Install the lower fixings of the Rear Rocker Panel Moulding.

Install the component.

NOTE

Hand tighten only at this stage.

With the aid of another person, install the Side Steps.

CAUTION

Do not over tighten the Side Step bolts.

Tighten the Side Step mounting bolts.

Torque: 9 Nm.

Check the alignment of the Side Steps against the body trim.
