FITTING INSTRUCTION

REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

Remove the loadspace floor panel.

Remove the rear bumper.

  • For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Rear Bumper (501-19)

Release the rear silencer and remove and discard the rear bumper armature and fixings.

  • For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Rear Armature (501-19)
Fitting Instruction
1

Install the shield bracket (T) to the rear of the Multi-Height Towbar (A) with fixings (R) and (S).

NOTE
  • Push the harness clip into the underside of the beam.

Install the towing electric socket (M) with fixings (P) and (N) to the bracket on the Multi-Height Towbar (A).

Install the shield (K) to the Multi-Height Towbar (A).

  • Install x4 push fixings (L) from the rear of the Multi-Height Towbar and x2 from the front.

With the aid of another person, offer up the Multi-Height Towbar (A).

NOTE
  • 'ONLY' hand tighten fixings at this stage.

Install x8 fixings (B).

NOTE
  • Repeat this step for the other side.

Install and tighten x2 fixings (B).

NOTE
  • Repeat this step for the other side.

Install and tighten x4 fixings (C).

Tighten x8 remaining fixings (B).

  • Torque: 100 Nm + 120°

Connect the electrical harness (M) to the main vehicle harness.

NOTE
  • Fixing plate (D) is only required if you are installing to the lowest position.

Install the towball. Please see following steps on how to install for upper, middle or lower positions.

NOTE
  • Do not use the fixing plate (D) for this position.

For using the towball in the top position follow these instructions.

  • Torque: 330Nm

NOTE
  • Do not use the fixing plate (D) for this position.

For using the towball in the middle position follow these instructions.

  • Torque: 330Nm

For using the towball in the lowest position follow these instructions.

  • Torque: 330Nm

Install the exhaust heat shields, exhaust and rear bumper support bracket.

Install the new towbar cover.

Install the rear bumper.

Install the loadspace floor panel.

Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, configure the towbar electrics.
