FITTING INSTRUCTION

  • Accessories which are not correctly installed can be dangerous. Read the instructions carefully prior to ordering and installation to make sure this accessory is applicable to your variant of vehicle. Comply with instructions at all times. If in doubt, contact your nearest approved retailer.

Warnings / Cautions / Notes

CAUTION
  • If protective wax / film has been applied to the vehicle it must be thoroughly removed before starting this procedure.
NOTE
  • This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
  • This procedure contains illustrations for left side components, right side components are similar.
  • The vehicle must be clean, dry and at workshop temperature. Vehicles moved into the workshop from cold or wet conditions should be dried and left to stand for a minimum of 2 hours.

REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

CAUTION
  • Make sure to use the front and rear subframe jacking points. Do not use the sill jacking points.
NOTE
  • Make sure the ramp legs are positioned so they do not obstruct the 'Deployable Side Steps or Fixed Side Steps' installation location.
  • If vehicle has 'Deployable Side Steps' then make sure to enable 'Roof Access Mode' from the PIVI screen for side steps to remain deployed to get access to vehicle jacking points.

Raise vehicle on ramp.

CAUTION
  • The wheel and tire assembly will be heavy.
  • The locking wheel nuts can be removed using the special adapter only, provided in the tool kit.
  • Using power tools may result in damage to the wheel nuts. Make sure the wheel nuts are removed and installed using hand tools only.

Remove both front wheels.

NOTE
  • Left side shown, also repeat on right side.
  • Use a plastic trim removal tool to aid removal of the clip to avoid damage to the wheel arch liner.

Remove x5 fixings and x1 clip from the front wheel arch liner.

NOTE
  • Left side shown, also repeat on right side.
  • Make sure the front mudflaps are aligned exactly as illustrated before marking.
  • Make sure top of the mudflap align with the bottom line of the fender (shown on graphic with the large arrow).

Align the mudflap to the fender cladding first as shown by red line, hold it tight with one hand and then insert the fixing (E) to assist in the alignment of mudflaps to mark x4 holes on each wheel arch liner

CAUTION
  • Take care not to damage / scrape the surface of fender cladding trim panel when replacing damaged trim clips.
NOTE
  • Left side shown, also repeat on right side.

Remove fender cladding trim panel.

  1. Remove and retain x2 fixings and remove the fender cladding trim panel by pulling it away from its x4 clips.
  2. When removed replace any damaged trim clips with trim clips (I).
Fitting Instruction

Paste patch (C) on the fender to avoid paint scraping while tightening fixings when installing the front mud flaps.

Pull out wheel arch liner for access. Do not bend the wheel arch support bracket.

CAUTION
  • Take care on vehicles installed with 'Fuel Operated Heater' on the right side not to drill through the 'Fuel Operated Heater' pipes.
NOTE
  • Left side shown, also repeat on right side.

While the wheel arch liners are pulled out, using a 10mm drill, drill x4 fixing holes on each side of the vehicle.

NOTE
  • This step is only required if your vehicle is installed with a 'Fuel Operated Heater'.

Attach the H-Clip (D) onto bracket (B1).

Locate mud flap bracket (B1) as shown on the right side of the vehicle. If present, tighten the H-Clip (D) onto the hose of 'Fuel Operated Heater' pipe close to connector. Cut the excess tie length.

Locate mud flap bracket (A1) as shown on the left side of the vehicle.

NOTE
  • Left side shown, also repeat on right side.

Fold back the wheel arch liner. Make sure wheel arch liner is fully engaged behind the fender sill where arrowed.

NOTE
  • This step is only required on the right side front mud flap (B).

Install the L-bracket (B2) onto the mud flap (B) using the push pin clip (H).

NOTE
  • Left side shown, also repeat on right side.

Install mud flaps using fixing (E) and spacer (G). Only hand tighten at this point.

  • Left side only.

Install fixings (F) in the sequence shown. Only hand tighten fixings at this point.

  • Right side only.

Install fixings (F) in the sequence shown. Only hand tighten fixings at this point. Then push in pin clip (arrowed).

  • Left side shown, also repeat on right side.

Install fixing (F). Only hand tighten fixing at this point.

Clip back in place the fender cladding trim panel and install x2 fixings.

Install x5 front left wheel arch liner fixings.

  • Torque: 5Nm

NOTE
  • One fixing of wheel arch liner will also go through L-bracket (B2).

Install x5 front right wheel arch liner fixings.

  • Torque: 5Nm

  • Left side shown, also repeat on right side.
  • Make sure top of the mudflap align with the bottom line of the fender (shown on graphic with the large arrow).

Inspect that the mud flaps are aligned correctly. Then tighten all fixings.

  • Torque: 4Nm
