FITTING INSTRUCTION

  • Accessories which are not correctly installed can be dangerous. Please read the instructions carefully prior to installation. Comply with the instructions at all times. If in doubt, contact your nearest approved retailer.

Warnings / Cautions / Notes

CAUTION
  • If protective wax has been applied to the vehicle it must be thoroughly removed before starting this procedure.
  • If protective wax has been applied to the parts it must be thoroughly removed before starting this procedure.
  • Wearing of gloves is mandatory at all times when handling of the mud flaps to protect the high gloss surface.
NOTE
  • The vehicle must be clean, dry and at workshop temperature. Vehicles moved into the workshop from the cold or wet conditions should be dried and left to stand for a minimum of 2 hours.

REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

Raise and support vehicle on a 4 post ramp.

CAUTION
  • The wheel and tire assembly will be heavy.
  • The locking wheel nuts can only be removed and installed by using the special adapter provided in the vehicle tool kit, located under the loadspace in the rear of the vehicle.
  • Using power tools may result in the damage to the wheel nuts. Make sure the wheel nuts are removed and installed using hand tools only.

Remove both front wheels. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Wheel and Tire (204-04 Wheels and Tires)

Fitting Instruction

Cover surface with masking tape.

Position front mudflap into place. Make sure the top edge is correctly in position to the lower fender trim (shown with the dashed line in the graphic). Then mark fixing holes and remove mud flap.

CAUTION
  • Be careful not to drill to deep.

Drill 10mm holes in the marked positions.

  1. Drill hole through the wheel arch liner.
  2. Drill hole through lower fender cladding and wheel arch liner behind.

Remove masking tape.

Remove x5 fixings from the front wheel arch liner.

Using a trim tool remove x4 clips from the front wheel arch liner.

Using a trim tool remove x1 retaining clip from the front wheel arch liner.

Pull back front wheel arch liner and install the U-nut (B2) to body.

NOTE
  • Clips may become damaged when removed and replacements will need to be ordered.

Remove x1 push pin fixing and pull lower fender cladding away from x4 trim clips. Then remove all x4 trim clips.

CAUTION
  • Do not proceed to next step until time given is observed.
NOTE
  • Complete this step on both sides of the vehicle before proceeding to next step.

Wipe both lower fender cladding on each side of the vehicle with solvent wipe (D). Then allow 2 minutes to dry before preceding to next step.

CAUTION
  • Do not proceed to next step until time given is observed.
NOTE
  • Complete this step on both sides of the vehicle before proceeding to next step.

Wipe lower fender cladding on each side of the vehicle with adhesive promoter wipe (E). Then allow 3 minutes to dry before preceding to next step.

  • Complete this step on both sides of the vehicle before proceeding to next step.

Insert fixing (C) into top fixing hole and peel backing tape from adhesive strips.

NOTE
  • Inspect the mudflap edge follows the fender cladding surface as shown with no gaps.
  • There should be a height difference of around 2mm gap from the mud flap to the top of the fender cladding.
  • Complete this step on both sides of the vehicle before proceeding to next step.

Position front mudflap by locating the upper fixing through the pre drilled hole and push the front mudflap against lower fender cladding to allow the adhesive strips to bond.

  • Complete this step on both sides of the vehicle before proceeding to next step.

Install front mudflap using bolt (C1) to fixing (C).

  • Torque: 6Nm

Reposition the fender cladding and mudflap on vehicle making sure not to fully install the fender cladding.

Locate bolt (C) into the mudflap and wheel arch liner.

Locate and install nut (C1) onto the bolt (C). Access can be gained from pulling out the wheel arch now that the mudflap is attached to it.

  • Torque: 6Nm

CAUTION
  • When clips are installed do not clip the lower fender cladding into position at this point.

Pull back the wheel arch to gain access to the back of the lower fender cladding to install x4 new trim clips - LR112137.

Partially move the mudflap and install wheel arch fixing positioned directly under the mudflap that was removed in step 5.

Push the fender lower cladding back onto the vehicle with its x4 clips and x1 push pin fixing.

Place spacer (B1) between mudflap and wheel arch liner and install fixing (B). Fixing (B) will be installed through the mudflap / spacer and wheel arch into U-Nut (B2) that was installed in step 8.

  • Torque: 6Nm

Secure front wheel arch liner back to body with the fixings removed in steps 5 and 6.

Install x1 retaining clip to the front wheel arch liner that was removed in step 7.
