FITTING INSTRUCTION

REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

Open upper and lower tailgates.

Remove loadspace floor panel.

WARNING
  • Requires the aid of another person.

Remove spare wheel by unscrewing the black plastic fixing holder in the centre of the wheel.

Remove lower tailgate trim by removing x4 fixings.

Remove x2 left side D-loops. Then pull away the left side luggage rail.

Release spare wheel well carpet by using a trim tool to removing x6 clips. Then pull away bottom left corner as shown to gain access underneath carpet.

Remove seal from inner back panel.

Fitting Instruction

NOTE
  • Electrical deployable harness shown. NAS and Austrilian markets do not have connectors (A3) and (A6).
  • Connectors (A6), (A8) and (A9) will be installed when you install the towbar.

Familiarize yourself with the towing harness.

Install harness (A)

  1. Feed harness through vehicle back panel as shown and secure back panel hole with grommet (A5).
  2. Connect ground point (A7) to back panel stud. You will first need to remove the bolt on the stud and then install ground point (A7). Then install back the fixing removed. Torque: 10Nm
  3. Clip the harness to the vehicle body were arrowed.

NOTE
  • Electrical Deployable Towbar Module (VPLKT0318) shown. For NAS and AUS towing the Trailer Light Module (VPLYT0295) is installed the same way.

Install towbar module (B) to bracket (C) with x2 fixings (B1).

  • Torque 6Nm

NOTE
  • This step is only for electrical deployable towbar harness.
  • Audible click will be heard when the connectors are correctly connected.

Connect harness (A) to TBM (B) with connectors (A1), (A2) and (A3).

NOTE
  • This step is only for NAS and Australian towbar harness.
  • Audible click will be heard when the connectors are correctly connected.

Connect harness (A) to TRM (B) with connectors (A1) and (A2).

NOTE
  • Electrical Deployable Towbar Module (VPLKT0318) shown. For NAS and AUS towing the Trailer Light Module (VPLYT0295) is installed the same way.

Connect connector (A4) to main vehicle body harness and then install TBM with bracket onto vehicle with x2 fixings (B1).

  • Torque 10Nm

NOTE
  • Make sure step 1 is successfully completed before proceeding to step 2.

Use the JLR approved diagnostic equipment to navigate to 'Diagnostics' section and follow the steps below.

  1. Within Vehicle Applications – Click ‘RUN’ for ‘Add/Remove Electronically Deployable Towbar’, then choose ADD.
  2. Within Module Programing – Click ‘RUN’ for ‘TBM - Software - Replace Module’.
  3. To enable the changes on the vehicle
    Ignition off
    Close all doors
    Lock the vehicle
    Wait 5 minutes
    To confirm changes
    Unlock the vehicle
    Reset Infotainment Screen (Refer to 'Touchscreen' settings in Owners handbook for detailed procedure.)
    Confirm ‘Tow bar' tile is present on the Touchscreen.

Install spare wheel well carpet back.

Install left side luggage rail and D-loops. Torque 20Nm

Install lower tailgate trim with its x4 fixings.

Install spare wheel.

Install loadspace floor panel.

Close upper and lower tailgates.
