REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

Note the position under the loadspace floor of the Deployable Side Step electrics depending on the vehicle specification.

  1. Position for 5 seat vehicles
  2. Position for 7 seat vehicles

Open upper and lower tailgates.

  • Illustration shows 5 seat vehicle.

Remove loadspace floor panel.

Remove loadspace floor panel.

Remove luggage floor liner and tool kit.

  • Requires the aid of another person.
NOTE

Remove spare wheel by unscrewing the black plastic fixing holder in the center of the wheel.

Remove lower tailgate trim by removing x4 fixings.

NOTE
  • This step applies to 5 seat vehicles only.

Remove x2 left side D-loops. Then pull away the left side luggage rail.

Release spare wheel well carpet by using a trim tool to removing x6 clips. Then pull away bottom left corner as shown to gain access underneath carpet.

Fitting Instruction

  • This step applies to 5-seat vehicles only.

Remove the Deployable Side Step harness from the body.

NOTE
  • This step applies to 5-seat vehicles only.

Install the bracket (B) to the body.

  • Torque: 10 Nm

NOTE
  • This step applies to 5-seat vehicles only.

Install the module (A) to the bracket.

  • Torque: 6 Nm

Connect the Deployable Side Step harness to the module.

  • This step applies to 7-seat vehicles only.

Remove the Deployable Side Step harness from the housing.

Install the module (A) to the housing.

  • Torque: 6 Nm

  • This step applies to 7-seat vehicles only.

Connect the Deployable Side Step harness to the module.

NOTE
  • Make sure step 1 is successfully completed before proceeding to step 2.

Use the JLR approved diagnostic equipment to navigate to 'Diagnostics' section and follow the steps below.

  1. Within Vehicle Applications – Click ‘RUN’ for ‘Add/Remove Deployable Side Steps’, then choose ADD.
  2. Within Module Programing – Click ‘RUN’ for ‘RBM - Software - Replace Module’.
    3. To enable the changes on the vehicle
    Ignition off
    Close all doors
    Lock the vehicle
    Wait 5 minutes
    To confirm changes
    Unlock the vehicle
    Reset Infotainment Screen (Refer to 'Touchscreen' settings in Owners handbook for detailed procedure.)
    Confirm 'Side - Step' tile is present on the Touchscreen
