Remove the rear air deflectors on both sides of the vehicle. See table.

Remove the transmission undershield.

Remove the Jacking point covers. If mudflaps are installed refer to the next step before removing the Jacking point covers.

Partially remove the front mudflap. Remaining wheel arch liner fixings should be removed for access to (C1) fixing. Refer to instructions For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Front Mudflaps (102-03 Exterior)

1. Remove mudflap fixings (C).
2. Partially move the mudflap and remove wheel arch liner fixing.

Remove the rear left and right undershields.

Remove and discard left and right side undershields. For fixed side steps see next step.

Retain the side undersheilds for fixed side step instalation.

Remove the rear undershields.

Remove the rear rocker panel moulding. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Rear Rocker Panel Moulding - Standard Wheelbase (501-08 Exterior Trim and Ornamentation)

Remove the front rocker moulding. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Front Rocker Panel Moulding (501-08 Exterior Trim and Ornamentation)

Identify the cut guide lines on the front transmission undershield.

• Paint over the cut guide lines to make the cut guide lines clearer if required.

Using a suitable tool cut the illustrated sections from the front undershield. Discard the removed sections.

Using a suitable tool cut the illustrated sections from the Jacking point cover. Discard the removed sections.

Identify the cut guide lines on the Jacking point cover.

• Paint over the cut guide lines to make the cut guide lines clearer if required.

Using the guide line on the undersheild as a datum measure and mark the cut lines as shown.

2. Using a suitable tool cut the illustrated section from the side undersheild and discard the removed sections.

For fixed side steps measure and cut the section shown. Discard the removed sections.

Identify the cut guide lines on the rear undershields.

• Paint over the cut guide lines to make the cut guide lines clearer.

Using the guide line on the undersheild as a datum measure and mark the cut lines as shown.

• Paint over the cut guide lines to make the cut guide lines clearer if required.

Using a suitable tool cut the illustrated section from the rear . Discard the removed sections.

Identify the cut guide lines on the rear undershields.

• Paint over the cut guide lines to make the cut guide lines clearer.

Using the guide line on the undersheild as a datum measure and mark the cut lines as shown.

• Paint over the cut guide lines to make the cut guide lines clearer if required.

Using a suitable tool cut the illustrated section from the rear . Discard the removed sections.

Disconnect the 'Deployable Side Steps' main harness. Remove and discard the blanking plug from the body.

Remove the clip on the blanking plug and replace with clip (E1) from the Fixed side step kit.

Identify which Jacking Point is required for each side of the vehicle.

Inspect the installation of each jacking point against the vehicle body before installing.

Install the front jacking point (A) to the vehicle.

1. Install, but do not fully tighten the x3 fixings (A1).

Fully tighten x3 fixings (A1).

• Torque: 24Nm

Install the rear bracket (C) and jacking point (B) to the vehicle.

1. Install, but do not fully tighten the x3 fixings (A1).

Fully tighten x3 fixings (A1).

• Torque: 24Nm

Install the front rocker moulding. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Front Rocker Panel Moulding (501-08 Exterior Trim and Ornamentation)

Install the rear rocker panel moulding. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Rear Rocker Panel Moulding - Standard Wheelbase (501-08 Exterior Trim and Ornamentation)

Install the side step brackets.

1. For 'Deployable Side Steps' see steps 10 to 20. Then proceed to step 25.
2. For 'Fixed Side Steps' see steps 21 to 24.

Install the modified Jacking point covers.

Before installation scan QR code on both left and right motor links (E).

• When scanned, If the date code on the motor link is before date code “220225” (for example 25/02/22) then the torque of the fixing in step 42 will need to be checked. (This will be completed when you get to step 42).

Install the rear deployable side step brackets (E) to the vehicle.

1. Install, but do not fully tighten the x2 fixings.

Deploy the deployable side steps using the vehicles PIVI screen.

Install the rear deployable side step bracket inboard fixing.

1. Install, but do not fully tighten the bolt.

Install the deployable side step motor harness clip to the rear jacking point bracket.

Identify which Side step bracket is required for each side of the vehicle.

Install the rear Fixed Side Step brackets (E) to the vehicle.

1. Install, but do not fully tighten x3 fixings.

Before installing the side step boards (F) inspect gap between the metal finisher and rubber step part.

Offer up the closure strip (G) to the step. Make sure the sliding T nut (arrowed) is positioned in the closure strip cutout spaces.

Secure the closure strips with x2 fixings (G2).

Install the closure strip clips (G1) to the fixed side step boards (F) making sure the clips are fully seated in the channel and using the clip spacing measurements as a guide.

Install the side step boards (F) onto the brackets with x4 fixings (F1).

Connect the Jaguar Land Rover approved battery support unit.

Stow and then deploy the deployable side steps using the vehicles PIVI screen 3 times.

Fully tighten the side step bracket fixings in the sequence shown.

• 1-5: M10 Torque: 60Nm
• 6: M12 Torque: 70Nm

Install the PHEV side undersheilds.

Install the rear left and right undershields.

Install the transmission undershield.

Partially deploy the side steps (midway), then inspect and tighten fixing on both rear left and right deployable side step brackets.

1. Remove the access panel to the rear junction box.
2. Locate R1F27 30 Amp fuse.
3. With the assistance of a second person retract the side steps by selecting the “Roof access mode”, at this point the fuse needs to be removed.
4. When timed correctly this will stop and hold the deployable side steps in the (midway) position for tightening the fixing.
5. When torqued to 24Nm, install the fuse, clear all DTC’s and inspect that the deployable side steps are functioning correctly.

Make sure the deployable side steps are operating correctly and are activated for the customer handover.
