FITTING INSTRUCTION

WARNING
  • Accessories which are not properly fitted can be dangerous. Read the instructions carefully prior to fitting. When fitting, comply with instructions at all times. If in doubt, contact your nearest approved retailer.
CAUTION
  • Under no circumstances is the motor to be removed from the armature when being replaced. The complete armature assembly needs to be returned otherwise any claim will be rejected.

REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS

Remove the load space floor panel.

Remove the load space trims.

Remove the left loadspace trim panel. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Left Loadspace Trim Panel (501-05)

Remove the rear bumper. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Rear Bumper (501-19)

Remove and discard the armature. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Rear Armature (501-19)

Fitting Instruction
1

With the aid of another person, install the deployable towbar.

NOTE
  • Install the bolts hand tight only at this stage.

Install the bolts.

NOTE
  • Repeat this step for the other side.

Install the bolt.

NOTE
  • Repeat this step for the other side.

Install the bolt.

Torque the bolts up.

  • Torque: 100 Nm + 120°

Install the towbar module.

  • Torque: 5 Nm
  • Connect the electrical harness.

Connect the electrical harness to the towbar module.

  • Secure the harness in the positions as illustrated.

Install the electrical harness.

Install the electrical harness.

Secure the electrical harness as illustrated.

  • Install the electrical connector.

Connect the towbar electrics.

Install the exhaust heat shields, exhaust and the rear bumper support bracket. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Rear Armature (501-19)

Using a suitable tool, cut the rear bumper as illustrated.

Install the deployable towbar cover.

Install the rear bumper. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Rear Bumper (501-19)

Check if the left loadspace trim panel has a bezel installed at the location illustrated. If the bezel is not installed then complete steps 17 to 19 before continuing at step 21. If the bezel is installed then complete step 20 before continuing at step 21.

Remove the adhesive backing.

Apply even pressure on the bezel for 5-10 seconds to allow adhesive to bond. Continue at step 21.

Install the left loadspace trim panel. For additional information, please refer to the official Workshop Manual. Left Loadspace Trim Panel (501-05)

  • Install the deployable towbar switch (G).

Install the loadspace trims.

Install the loadspace floor panel.

Using the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment, configure the towbar electrics.
